Hi y'all! I have been honored to spend the last year with you through this blog. We have all enjoyed your input and ideas.
At this year’s faculty summit in Colorado Springs, the topic of desktop support came up, and how we can better serve this community. As faculty, we have our ideas, and HDI does, too, all of them great!
But it is important for us to hear from you. What can HDI can do for you, the desktop community, in addition to what we did in 2011?
Here’s a small peek at the energies and efforts that went into your community recently:
- Successfully released the new HDI Desktop Support Manager three-day certification course.
- Released a bridge course for those transitioning from support center to desktop support management. (This will be available very soon!)
- Updated the HDI Desktop Support Technician course.
- Solidified a new Desktop Support Standard committee.
- Released the new HDI Desktop Support Practices & Salary Report.
- Completed new standards for the desktop support team lead position
- Added a desktop support track to the annual conference, with amazing speakers hand-picked just for you!
- Launched the HDI Desktop Support Technician blended learning course online, for those who could not meet us in person.
We think it is of great importance to create a community that caters specifically to your interests, to provide a place you can go to get your questions answered, air your frustrations, and build relationships with others in your field. But your input is necessary! So reach out--let us know how we can help you, and we will all grow together!
I hope the last year’s blogs have given you some ideas. It was my pleasure to host and get to know so many of you.
