HDI Forums program manager: What does that mean? Well, four weeks in, I can tell you that it's everything I thought it would be and so much more! Having spent more than thirty years as a practitioner focused on service and support inside several different business verticals, it's so comfortable to be inside HDI. I love this place.
Throughout my career, I have always enjoyed being able to connect with and learn from peers that have "been there, done that," so it's thrilling to be in a position to facilitate that type of experience for others. Sure, I know I’ll continue to learn and gain valuable insights and experience; but now I'm in a position to help others to do the same. Throughout my twelve-year association with the HDI local chapter network and four years with the HDI Retail Forum, I've learned that there is so much to share. My favorite experience over the last four years has been the connections I've made, connections that go deeper than any other professional connections I've made. I want to help practitioners find the same value and make the same great memories I've enjoyed all of these years.
Program management is not a new discipline for me, but this has to be the best project ever. Who wouldn't love working with stakeholders that are as passionate about service and support as I am? Who wouldn't love the opportunity to stand on the shoulders of a great talent like Leslie Cook and continue building the successful programs she created? Who wouldn’t want to work on their passion full-time? I love this job and I look forward to your feedback to help me make sure the program is providing you with value.
As a member of the HDI Forum group, it's my desire to ensure that you find value and the opportunity to learn new and valuable ways to enjoy your work life. Professional associations like the Forum groups are key to overachieving in every professional endeavor. To be able to return to work after a Forum meeting and say, "I just spent three days with the director of customer experience delivery for a Fortune 500 company and they..." Is it really name-dropping if you have their details and can call them up to ask questions? I don't think so. I think it's a value-add that isn’t available to most service and support professionals.
I am thrilled to be a part of the HDI team, and I'm even more thrilled to be the program manager for the HDI Forum groups. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me anytime with questions, suggestions, or criticisms, or to ask me how bowling was this week! My personal desire is to help you find the value and the experiences you need to be a rock star in your work team!
I'm looking forward to a great run!
